Greetings from Texas!

The week is off to a running start! After I arrived in Texas last night, I grabbed a quick dinner, signed a few autographs and got to bed early. I was exhausted, so I fell right to sleep.

I woke up at 4:30 a.m. today and have been busy ever since. Getting up so early was tough, but after a bowl of oatmeal and strawberries, I was ready to put on my best smile and answer all the reporters’ questions. My day started with 20 interviews with television stations around the country.

The most frequently asked question was about my Winston Cup debut. I can’t tell you how excited I am about that, and about the debut Sprint is also making here in Texas. They’ve just announced new local and long distance service throughout the state. It’s an exciting week for both of us, and there’s plenty more to come!

Being a Petty makes it a lot easier when dealing with the media. I love talking with the reporters and fans. After all, I learned from the best. My grandfather and father have always taught me to appreciate the media and fans. They (the fans and media) are why NASCAR is such a great sport and the reason it’s growing so rapidly.

This afternoon I’m participating in the Busch Series conference call. I wonder if they’ll let me make the call from my new Sprint PCS phone that was designed especially for me? It has my autograph and No. 45 on it, and is red and black like my Sprint Chevrolet. Of course I think they are great, and Sprint has produced 1,000 of the phones to be sold in the Dallas/Fort Worth area this weekend.

The new Sprint PCS phone is just another example of how great my sponsor and my family have been to me at such a young age. I am constantly amazed at how fast my career is moving!

I’ll wrap up the day with a couple of special appearances. First, I am going to visit some Sprint employees and customers in Dallas, and tonight I will meet fans at a local Sprint PCS store.

Check out www.adampetty.com if you need any more information, and I’ll check back in on Wednesday.

Adam
