ATLANTA (CNNSI.com) -- Tony Schumacher, driver of the U.S. Army Top Fuel dragster in the National Hot Rod Association, and Jerry Nadeau, who will drive the U.S. Army Winston Cup car in 2003, will join a delegation of drivers from various racing series on a New Year's trip to visit U.S. troops stationed in Afghanistan.

"We're leaving on December 28th and will be over there for a week," Schumacher said. "I'm really looking forward to the trip. This is an opportunity to bring cheer and good wishes to the troops serving our country. It's also a chance to return the support they have given the U.S. Army Top Fuel Drag Racing Team."

Joining Schumacher and Nadeau on the trip will be Winston Cup drivers Brett Bodine and Geoffrey Bodine, Northwest Busch Series driver Gary Lewis and Nigel Hook of the American Power Boat Association.
