HEBRON, Ohio (AP) -- Larry Dixon became the first Top Fuel driver
to win three straight races with his victory Sunday at the Pontiac
Excitement Nationals.
Tony Pedregon, Greg Anderson and Fred Collis also won in their
respective categories at the $2 million event, the 11th of 23 this
season.
Dixon used a run of 4.655 seconds at 313.58 mph in his Miller
Lite dragster to take the easy victory over Darrell Russell, who
lost traction early in the run. It was the 30th career NHRA Top
Fuel victory for Dixon.
Pedregon earned his sixth Funny Car victory of the season when
team owner John Force was disqualified for crossing the center line
in the final round. Pedregon's Ford Mustang immediately lost
traction at the start and slowed to a pass of 8.449 at 134.81, then
Force lost traction and crossed the line.
Anderson drove a Pontiac to his fifth Pro Stock victory in 6.883
