(Eclipse) -- Benetton’s Giancarlo Fisichella is another driver who has never been to Indianapolis, but says he cannot wait to get behind the wheel of his car and race at the “Mecca” of American motor racing:

“Unfortunately,” he said. “I have never been to Indianapolis before so I am mostly looking forward to the experience of the race weekend at the American temple of motor racing,” he confessed.

“This will be the first time I have raced in the USA so everything will be new for me and I am expecting it to be very exciting. It is a new circuit for drivers and teams so this makes the new challenge much more interesting.”

However, teammate Alexander Wurz is one of the few current crop of F1 drivers who has driven in America although not on ovals.

The Austrian said this weekend will be a dream come true:

“I am mostly looking forward to seeing the famous Indy racetrack, as it always has been a dream to race in Indianapolis. I also want to see the big stadium there,” he said. “I have no real idea about Indianapolis itself but I hope to explore the city and its surroundings. I have raced in America with GT cars at Sebring, Florida, and Laguna Seca, California, but never at Indianapolis.”
