Entering the game, Michigan's defense had given up only 21 points in its first five games, while Iowa's offense -- led by 1985 Davey O'Brien Award-winning QB Chuck Long -- had averaged 44.2 points per game. Late in the fourth quarter Long put together a 16-play, 66-yard drive that set up the game-winning 29-yard field goal as time expired.
