The Catch (Dwight Clark)
1980
Walter's take: ''I followed Dallas all year, so I was heartbroken when the 49ers' Dwight Clark made that catch. I'd covered every game, been in the locker room with Dallas, and gotten access that no other photographer had. I didn't know the significance of this photo when I took it. I didn't even know I'd gotten it. But The Catch has become quite famous over the years, so the picture has too. It was the start of a hell of an era for the 49ers. So I'm pretty happy with the photo now.''
