1912: Red Sox vs. Giants
The best-of-seven series had been pushed to an eighth game because of a tie in Game 2. The Giants entered the bottom of the tenth in Game 8 three outs away from their second World Series title. New York's Fred Snodgrass dropped an easy fly ball that helped ignite a two-run rally that won the game, and the Series, for the Red Sox. It was their second world championship.
