John F. Kennedy returns to D.C. Stadium and becomes the first president to throw the ceremonial first pitch at an All-Star Game. Earlier in the season, JFK had also thrown the ceremonial first pitch at the Senators' home opener in the first game played in Washington's new $23-million ballpark.
