To kick of his successful year, Manny Pacquiao claimed the WBC and The Ring super featherweight titles after defeating Juan Manuel Marquez in a rematch on March 15. The victory marked the first time a Filipino had won three titles in three weight classes. On June 28, Pacquiao knocked out David Diaz in the ninth round to snag the WBC lightweight belt. Then, on Dec. 6, Pacquiao jumped two weight divisions to take on "Golden Boy" Oscar De La Hoya. The Filipino pummeled the boxing legend to earn a ninth-round TKO victory.
