Here are some of the favorite shots of Sports Illustrated photographer Walter Iooss Jr, beginning with Michael Jordan.

The `blue dunk' picture was taken in Lisle, Ill. Because Michael and I hadn't discussed which uniform he was going to wear, I had my assistants paint this huge parking lot -- one section red and one section blue. When he showed up in his red uniform, we set up on the contrasting blue court. I had a basket on wheels, so I could shift it into position so the shadow would be in the right place.
