Nearly 40,000 fans spent New Year's Day with the Bruins and Flyers. On a flawless New Year's Day, the Bruins provided their own unique finish to Fenway Park's history of memorable endings. Marco Sturm capped a furious comeback with an overtime goal and goalie Tim Thomas saved his best for the end as Boston beat the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 in the 3rd annual Winter Classic, the first NHL game at the home of the Boston Red Sox.
