1985 national title game

The NCAA tournament increased to 64 teams back in 1985. Here are the most memorable moments since the expansion.

The first 64-team tournament provided one of the greatest upsets in sports history. Rollie Massimino's Villanova team entered the national title game as a heavy underdog to Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas. But the Wildcats concluded their Cinderella story with an otherworldly shooting performance, converting 78.6 percent from the field. To this day, the eighth-seeded Cats remain the lowest seed ever to win an NCAA tournament.
