1976: California Golden Seals become Cleveland Barons

After nine seasons in Oakland, including three with Athletics' owner Charlie Finley in charge, the Golden Seals ended their run in California. When an arena proposal was rejected under new owner Mel Swig, the team left town. The Barons were absorbed into the Minnesota North Stars in 1978.
