On May 25, 2011, 41-year-old Mariano Rivera became the first pitcher in major league history to make 1,000 appearances with the same team. The 11-time All-Star is the 15th pitcher to reach 1,000 appearances, during that time helping the franchise to 15 playoffs and five World Series titles.
