We can all agree now that Mauer's power spike in 2008 was a total fluke, and he has about as much chance of repeating it as the Astros do of winning the World Series this year, right? OK, good. I'll grant you that it's safe to project his batting average to climb back above .300 with an OBP that borders on or surpasses .400. Still, I'm not paying a Top-80 draft price for a catcher who has hit 12 homers in his last 917 at-bats, positional scarcity be damned. Remember, he has little offensive support around him even if Justin Morneau is healthy this season.
