The New York Yankees, with a big league-high $210 million payroll, hit .188 in the postseason -- a record low for a team that played at least seven games -- and .157 in the LCS. Five players in particular (A-Rod, Robinson Cano, Nick Swisher, Curtis Granderson and Russell Martin) batted a combined .122 in the postseason, while being paid about $72 million combined in 2012. That amount is more than the entire team payroll of seven other clubs, including the division rival Tampa Bay Rays ($64 million) and the AL West-winning Oakland Athletics ($53 million). What follows is a look at the postseason ineptitude of each of those players.
