Quarterback Trent Green suffers a season-ending knee injury in the third preseason game. Kurt Warner, a former Arena League player and Iowa grocery stock boy, takes over as the starter and leads the Rams to a Super Bowl championship, earning NFL MVP honors and becoming only the second player to pass for 40 touchdowns in one season.
