Defending British Open champion Paul Lawrie will be hard-pressed to repeat the drama of last year's Open, which saw him overtake Frenchman Jean Van de Velde to force a playoff. If Lawrie successfully defends his British Open title, he will be the first golfer since Tom Watson in 1983 to do so.
