The all-Spanish finale of Real Madrid and Valencia marked the first time that two teams from the same country competed for the Champions League title. The championship, held in the Stade de France near Paris, proved that eighth time is still the charm, as the favored Real Madrid dominated the 90 minutes on the way to a 3-0 win.
