1902: Michigan 49, Stanford 0. Coached by the legendary Fielding Yost, Michigan headed west for what would become the first-ever bowl game. But the lopsided score of the contest, played in front of 8,000 spectators at Tournament Park, prompted Tournament of Roses organizers to replace football with a chariot race the following year. The next game would not be played until 1916.
