Courtesy Rose Bowl
|
1963: No. 1 USC 42, No. 2 Wisconsin 37. It was a game of firsts: the Rose Bowl's first 1 vs. 2 matchup, and John McKay's first of eight Rose Bowls in 16 seasons as USC coach. It was also the first game to feature such deft passing, as Trojans quarterback Pete Beathard threw four touchdowns and Wisconsin's Ron Vander Kelen was 33-of-48 for 401 yards.
