One for 463
As NASCAR’s most exhilarating day became Black Sunday, an unlikely hero rose from the ashes of an otherwise dismal event. Michael Waltrip, driving a Dale Earnhardt owned Chevrolet, held off Sterling Marlin and Dale Earnhardt Jr. to earn his first trip to Victory Lane in 463 Winston Cup races.
