Point Taken

The name everybody knew going into the 127th running of the Kentucky Derby was Point Given. Jockey Gary Stevens couldn't guide the horse to anything better than fifth place. Monarchos, ridden by Jorge Chavez, stole the show, bolting from the 16th position to win with the second-fastest time ever at 1:59 4/5. The second-largest crowd in Derby history turned out for the event with 154,210 in attendance. Click on the images below for more action from the Kentucky Derby.
