Clarett couldn't have entered the 2005 NFL Draft with more baggage. After leading Ohio State to a national championship in 2002, he got in trouble with the law, was suspended for the 2003 season, sued to become eligible for the draft and lost the case. Perhaps it was that baggage that slowed him down in his 4.72 40-yard dash at the Combine. But the Broncos, a team loaded with productive RBs, still picked him with the last pick of the third round -- much higher than experts anticipated.
