As the No. 1 overall selection in the 1999 NBA Draft, Elton Brand faced some high expectations. Labeled the cornerstone of a rebuilding Chicago franchise, Brand averaged 20.1 points, 10 rebounds and 1.63 blocks, leading all rookies in those categories. His efforts earned him the honor of being named co-winner of the 1999-2000 Schick Rookie of the Year Award and selection to the 1999-2000 Schick All-Rookie First Team.
