Michael Jordan has got to go. Heresy? Perhaps. Yes, he is the greatest ever. No, I do not want to grit my teeth through his umpteenth "comeback". Jordan has retired and unretired so many times that the notion of his returning to play another season is almost self-parody. Sure, he could put up impressive stats -- by any other (lesser) player's standards, however. It is time for him to gracefully step down -- for a lesson on how to do it right, look at Wayne Gretzky's quiet, dignified exit. If Jordan's love for the game is as great as he insists, then why not let him mentor a new generation of athletes instead of presenting fans with a slower, less aerial version of his old self? In any case, it's closing time for #23.
