Let's say see ya to Notre Dame football on national television. The mystique is gone. The national championship is light years away. Ever since they lost to Boston College in 1994 on David Gordon's last second field goal -- right in between Touchdown Jesus' eyes -- the program has been spiraling down. Why should we be forced to watch this mediocre team every week on NBC, when there are so many other games that are more competitive and interesting. Why not show an upstart program in a meaningful game, not a 5-5 Irish team that is more hype than reality. Money is the driver behind this, and quite frankly, it's hurting college football more than helping.
