![]() After trailing by four points Saturday night, all hope seemed lost for the United States. No other team had erased more than a two-point deficit since the format went to 28 points in 1979. Captain Ben Crenshaw kept hope alive and the U.S. came out firing in Sunday's singles round. The victory celebration began as soon as Justin Leonard's putt went in on the 17th hole.
