Despite the purchase by Shaquille O'Neal of a minority stake in the Sacramento Kings, he will continue to serve as an analyst on TNT's Inside The NBA.

USA Today reported Monday that the former 19-year NBA veteran had purchased into the Kings' ownership group. The move, though, will not preclude him from working as an NBA analyst, SI has learned. "We have the utmost confidence in Shaquille, as we do with all of our on-air talent, to serve our viewers with objective analysis and opinions when they are on the air," a Turner spokesperson told SI.com Monday night. Shaq's new role with the Sacramento Kings does not change our expectations."

There is ongoing precedent for such a move -- which some would consider a conflict. ESPN/ABC analyst Magic Johnson owned a share of the Lakers from 1994 to 2010 and carried the title of team vice president while also serving as an analyst for TNT from 2001-08 before moving to ESPN in '10.

The 2013-14 season will mark O'Neal's third year with the TNT NBA crew.
