Netherlands repeat on penalties
The Netherlands played to a first Saturday to win a second. For the first time in Olympic men's field hockey competition, penalty strokes were needed to decide the gold medal. And it was the Dutch winning their second consecutive gold by outshooting South Korea 5-4 in the extra time. South Korea, playing it its first final, rallied late to tie the match 3-3. Australia won the bronze by beating Pakistan 6-3.
