Cameroon wins gold over Spain in penalty kick shootout
Africa kept the Olympic men's soccer title after another heart-stopping finale, as Cameroon outshot Spain 5-3 in penalty kicks on Saturday in the gold medal match, after the two teams ended regulation and extra time tied 2-2. Pierre Wome struck home the clinching kick in front ot 98,212 at Stadium Australia. For the people of Cameroon, burdened by poverty and infamous for corruption, the victory was reason for a national holiday.
