Maria Olaru Romania has its hopes pinned on Maria Olaru in Thursday's women's all-around final. Allsport photo

Lonely eyes

Where have you gone, Nadia Comaneci? A nation -- Romania -- desperately wants to set its sights on another Olympic all-around champion. Despite building a gymnastics powerhouse, Romania has yet to capture women's all-around Olympic gold since Comaneci's triumph in 1976. In 2000, they may have another legitimate hope in Maria Olaru, a polished, consistent gymnast who won the 1999 World Championships. NBC brings you all the tape-delayed action, with prime-time coverage of Thursday's all-around final beginning at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
