Venus Williams Venus Williams rejoices after downing Lindsay Davenport 6-1, 6-4 in the finals of the Bank of West Classic in July. Paul Sakuma/AP

All-American Club?

When top-ranked Martina Hingis announced she wasn't coming, the chances for an all-American women's singles final in Sydney became a lot more likely. But with Lindsay Davenport withdrawing, the gold medal stage at the Tennis Centre Wednesday night is left to Venus Williams. Prime-time action hits the airways at 7 p.m. EST/PST, part of NBC's 8 1/2 hours of coverage. Expect highlights from the baseball gold medal game, cycling's men's road race, and a host of Greco-Roman wrestling finals.
