A new coach and revamped roster didn’t pay off for the U.S. women's soccer team. The defending Olympic champions and 1999 World Cup winners fell to Norway 3-2 in the gold-medal match Thursday. Norwegian substitute Dagny Mellgren scored in the 12th minute of sudden death. The game ended an amazing four-year run by the U.S. and was likely the final major international game for the core of the American team.
