Once again, a teen-ager foiled Michelle Kwan's golden opportunity. With the performance of her young life, 16-year-old American Sarah Hughes soared from fourth place to win the free skate and the Olympic gold medal Thursday night. Kwan won bronze, and Russian Irina Slutskaya took silver.
