Mostly Maritta Germany advances to face Russia in fifth-place gamePosted: Monday February 18, 2002 1:20 AMWEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH (AP) -- Maritta Becker scored twice and had an assist Sunday night to lead Germany to a 4-0 victory over Kazakhstan in an Olympic women's hockey game between teams already out of medal contention. Stephanie Wartosch-Kurten stopped 26 shots to earn the shutout in the classification contest. The German women got their four goals on their first 14 shots at Kazakhstan goaltender Natalya Trunova. She finished with 17 saves. Michaela Lanzl scored at 15:27 of the opening period. Claudia Grundmann made it 2-0 early in the second, then Becker added a pair of goals later in the period.
