Great honor for Great One

Gretzky to receive IOC Olympic Order on Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Wayne Gretzky, a worldwide ambassador for hockey as well as the game's best player ever, will be honored Tuesday with the Olympic Games' highest honor.

Gretzky, head of the Canadian men's hockey organization at the games, and three others will receive the IOC Olympic Order.

The others are Walter Bush, the former Minnesota North Stars owner who has been active in the sport's governing bodies nationally and internationally; Shoichi Tomita of Japan, a pioneer in the development of the game in Asia; and Miro Subrt of Czechoslovakia, a director of the world championships since 1957.
