France's Carole Montillet set a blistering time in the downhill Tuesday, and none of the favorites could match it. SI's Tim Layden says the 28-year-old skied the race of her life. The first downhill victory of her career was an emotional one, as Montillet remembered late friend, roommate and team leader Regine Cavagnoud, who died in a skiing accident earlier in the season.
