This time there was no figure skating controversy. Russian Alexei Yagudin received first-place votes from all nine judges to win gold in the men's competition Thursday. Countryman Evgeny Plushenko finished second, and American Timothy Goebel took the bronze, becoming the first U.S. male to medal since 1992.
