• Career Highlights: Aussprung enjoyed a solid World Cup season, winning silver in the “B group” in the 500 meters at Nagano, Japan, and the 1,000 at Kolomna, Russia. He was a member of the World Singles Distances Championships team, but didn’t compete at the event in Vancouver. He began skating at age 9 and broke the junior national record in the 500 (35.83 seconds) and 1,000 (1:10.11) in 2007. Aussprung was second in the 500 meters at the recent U.S. World Cup/Olympic Qualifier in Milwaukee.
