- Career Highlights: After a successful surgery in April to alleviate pain in both of her hands, Zablocki looks strong heading into her third Olympics.
She finished in fourth place (3:08.852) in women’s singles in the 2006 Games in Torino, nearly becoming the first American
women’s slider to win an Olympic medal. Zablocki took 13th at the Salt Lake City Games in 2002. Zablocki, who is a member
of the Colorado Sports Women Hall of Fame, took sixth in the international luge start championship in Meransen, Italy, in
August. Zablocki is a veteran of seven world championships. Her best World Cup finish was fourth in Igls, Austria, on Dec.
12, 2001. Zablocki was the Verizon North American champion in 2004 and took silver in that event in 2000 and 2001. She took
bronze in the 2007 JetBlue Airways U.S. national start championship and finished sixth in the international start competition
in Meransen, Italy, in August. Zablocki joined the Colorado Army National Guard following the 2006 Olympics.
