  • Sport: Olympic Luge
  • Nation: United States of America
  • DOB: February 19, 1985
  • Hometown: Carmel, NY
  • Career Highlights: Joye, 24, makes his second straight Olympics appearance and first with teammate Christian Niccum. In 2006, Joye and teammate Preston Griffall won a race-off against Niccum and Patrick Quinn by 0.12 seconds to secure the American men's second doubles team for the Turin Games. Joye and Griffall finished in eighth place in the Turin Olympics, the top U.S. team after Brian Martin and Mark Grimmette crashed. With Griffall, Joye won the junior World Cup doubles championship in 2002 and 2003. Teamed with Niccum since the 2007-08 season, Joye has enjoyed plenty of success with his new driver. The two were the 2008 U.S. national champions and finished second at the 2009 nationals. They were sixth at the 2009 world championships in Lake Placid, matching their finish at the 2008 worlds in Oberhof, Germany. Joye and Niccum had to take a break during the 2008-09 season due to the premature birth of Joye's son, Jett.
