Jayson Hale
- Sport: Olympic Snowboarding
- Nation: United States of America
- DOB: June 26, 1985
- Hometown: Sierraville, CA
- Career Highlights: Hale was just 19 when he burst onto the scene with a bronze medal in snowboardcross at his first-ever world championships
in 2005, and he also finished third at the Winter X Games the following winter. Those results, however, came before he tore
the ACL in his right knee while training for the 2006 Olympics in Turin, and he hasn’t been able to recapture his top form
on the international circuit since. After a lengthy hiatus from competition following the injury, Hale hasn’t finished better
than 15th in his last nine World Cup events, and he’ll have a tough climb from the American B team if he’s to pass a loaded
U.S. group and earn a spot in Vancouver. Reigning gold medalist Seth Wescott is among several U.S. riders who could be top
contenders in the snowboardcross, and Hale will likely need to quickly improve his results this winter in order to have a
chance.
