  • Career Highlights: Nicknamed “Miami Ice,” Rodriguez was introduced to speedskating by her ex-husband KC Boutiette after both enjoyed solid inline skating careers. A three-time member of the U.S. Olympic team, Rodriguez won bronze in both the 1,000 meters and 1,500 at the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City. She also placed seventh in the 3,000. Rodriguez finished fourth in 3,000 at the 1998 Games in Nagano. “J-Rod” was the first Cuban-American to compete in and win a medal at the Winter Olympics. Rodriguez was also the first American woman to earn a spot on the Olympic team in all five events for the 2002 Games. She won the 1,000 meters at the recent U.S. World Cup/Olympic qualifier in Milwaukee.
