Erik Johnson

  • Sport: Olympic Ice Hockey
  • Nation: United States of America
  • DOB: March 21, 1988
  • Hometown: Bloomington, MN
  • Career Highlights: Johnson represented Team USA at the 2007 World Junior Championship in Sweden, and led all blueliners on the team with 10 points (four goals, six assists). He then had two assists in seven games for the U.S. at the World Championship in Russia. The top overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Johnson will be looking to bounce back from a freak injury that sidelined him all of last season. Johnson tore two right knee ligaments in a team-sanctioned golf tournament when his foot was caught between the accelerator and brake on his golf cart. The Blues still made a surprise appearance in the postseason, but Johnson's injury was a big blow after a promising rookie season for a player considered a franchise cornerstone. In 2006-07, Johnson played 69 games, led all St. Louis defensemen with 33 points and was third overall with 28 assists.
