  • Career Highlights: Limited by a shoulder injury to 41 games last season, Johnson returned in a big way at the 2009 World Championship in Switzerland, with a team-high five goals and tying for third on the club and second among defensemen with seven points. Four years ago, Johnson was picked third overall in the NHL Entry Draft after leading Michigan's freshmen and defensemen in scoring. After turning down an opportunity to go professional, he returned to the Wolverines in 2006-07 and again led the team's defensemen in scoring. When he chose to continue his college career, the Hurricanes traded his rights to Los Angeles. Following a scoreless five-game stint with Kings in 2006-07 after his college season ended, Johnson had three goals and eight assists in 74 games as a rookie in 2007-08. Had six goals and five assists before last season's injury.
