Heidi Neururer

  • Sport: Olympic Snowboarding
  • Nation: Austria
  • DOB: January 5, 1979
  • Career Highlights: Neururer has been a steady presence on the World Cup circuit the last few years, taking sixth in the overall alpine standings in 2008-09 after second-places finishes in each of the previous two winters. The Austrian veteran has 21 career podium finishes in World Cup events (in parallel slalom and parallel GS), including four gold medals in the last three years. The 2007 world champion in the parallel slalom also has tasted success in British Columbia, with a silver medal at the 2005 world championships at Whistler. While Neururer has had more success in the parallel slalom than the slightly different parallel GS event, she’s one of the more experienced riders out there and she’ll be hungry to succeed in Vancouver after missing the Olympics in 2006. She’ll again have plenty of competition to get there, with countrywomen Doris Guenther and Marion Kreiner headlining a deep Austrian contingent.
