Elena Tkach
Sport: Shooting
Nation: Russian Federation
DOB: May 19, 1970
Hometown: Voronegh
Career Highlights: Tkach didn't have a very memorable performance at her first Olympic Games. Her second one might be different as she's one
of the favorites to win a medal in women’s trap shooting. The 42-year-old Russian finished third at the 2011 world championships,
her first medal in that event in nine years. She also had a pair of second-place finishes in this year’s World Cup series,
including one at the venue for the London Games. Tkach made her only Olympic appearance in 2000 and finished sixth in trap
shooting. She was also 16th in the double trap, an event no longer held for women at the Games. Tkach earned one of her three
world championships medals in that event, a silver, while competing for the Soviet Union in 1991. She claimed her only world
title in 2002 and has two overall World Cup championships, in 2005 and 2006.
