Career Highlights: Mikhaylov will be making his second Olympic appearance after helping Russia claim a bronze medal in Beijing in 2008. The opposite
hitter emerged as one of the world’s elite in 2011, winning MVP and Best Blocker awards for champion Russia in World League
play and was also named MVP of the World Cup after leading Russia to a gold medal that secured a trip to London. Mikhaylov
finished third in scoring at the World Cup with 185 points, including 150 by spike with a success rate of 52.08 percent _
also good for third. A well-rounded player, Mikhaylov placed in the top 20 in blocking (13th) and digging (18th) at the World
Cup while registering 15 aces in 11 matches. At the club level, Mikhaylov helped Zenit Kazan to the 2012 CEV Champions League
title after finishing runner-up in 2011.
