Career Highlights: The son of world champion Vyacheslav Klokov, Dmitry will be looking to better the silver medal he won at the 2008 Beijing Games with a total lift of 423 kilograms. He also won silver at the 2010 European Championships but has been a regular visitor to the podium at the worlds, winning a gold, two silvers and two bronzes between 2005 and 2011. One of those silver medals came last November after lifting 428 kilos to fall short against countryman Khadzhimurat Akkaev. Still, Klokov was voted as the third-best male weightlifter at the worlds behind Xiaojun Lu of China and Akkaev.
